Screen print

Direct printing also called screen printing or slikscreen printing is a widely used and recognized printing method. Your motif is transferred via a light-sensitive emulsion to the polyester screen-printing mesh, which is attached to a printing freme. Then the color is printed through the template directly on the fabric.

When the motif is printed, it must be heat-fixed so the textiles can be washed at 40°C. To take care of the print, we recommend that you wash inside out and avoid a tumble dryer.

In 2019, we replaced all our serigraphic printing machines with 3 new ROQ printing machines to achieve an even better printing result.Storm Textil has made serigraphy print since 1991. This printing method helped to establish Storm Textil. Later we started printing with other methods and we also established the clothing line.

Over the years, we have built up extensive experience in screen- printing, and we are proud that several of our employees have been involved almost from the start and that we also have trainees in the screen- printing production. Then we can use experience and new knowledge when we need to help and guide you.

Printcolor

We print with both water-based and plastisol colors.

Water-based color

Water-based printing color is transparent and therefore the color of the textiles can be seen through the print. Therefore, water-based color is best suited for light colored fabrics, the printing-color also blend with the fabric. If we print with water-based color on dark-colored textiles, the printing-color will change, as the color of the textiles will shine through the printing-color. If the print is darker but the same tone as the fabric color, we often use water-based color (tone-in-tone).

Plastisol color

Plastisol color is available in both opaque and transparent versions, but we only use the opaque version. The color is on top of the fabric, as it should hide the color of the fabric.

We recommend that plastisol colors are printed on colored fabrics. Modern plastisol paints are free of PVC, phthalates, and other harmful substances. We only use modern plastisol inks in our printing production.
In order for the colors to be clear and beautiful on dark textiles, we print a white base under the motif, which is dried.
If we must print e.g.  white print on black textile, we print the white color twice to make sure it covers. If, we need to print a red print on black textiles, we first print a white base which is dried (flashed) and then we print the red color on top.Photographs or photograph-like motifs must be printed with high-coverage colors, but this requires a special separation technique. These motifs should typically be printed with approx. 8 colors, but our skilled staff at the design studio take care of that.

If you need to have neon colors printed on dark fabrics, you need the white base twice for the neon color to be nice and clear. The neon colors are very transparent.

Direct printing is suitable for many different tasks. We are always available with good advice and guidance when choosing a printing method, so that your printing is performed in the best possible way in relation to motif, number of colors, quantity and which products needs to printed. We have many options, but the most important thing is that the result is nice and professional.
